Artistic directors and managers 

The board of Skálholt Summer Concerts have decided to hire Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir and Ragnheiður Erla Björnsdóttir as the artistic and executive directors for 2022-2023.


Ásbjörg and Ragnheiður Erla are both working as composers, musicians and teachers. They met while studying vocal art at Mosfellsbær Art School and have since worked together on many projects.


Ásbjörg and Ragnheiður Erla are very excited to start working for the Skálholt Summer Concerts and grateful for the opportunity given to them by the board. They want to honor the long traditions of Skálholt Summer Concerts, but also start some new ones.

​Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir

​Ásbjörg has a varied background from both classical music and jazz. She studied composition both at IUA and Hartt School of Music (USA) and jazz at FÍH.

 

Ásbjörg works as a musician, children's choir conductor in Guðríðarkirkja and as a teacher in Listaskóli Mosfellsbæjar.

Ragnheiður Erla Björnsdóttir

Ragnheiður Erla has a varied background both in music and poetry. She studied composition at the IUA and poetry at the Unversity of Iceland.

​

She works as a poet, composer, performer and teacher in Vienna and Reykjavík.
